The Greek tech startup ecosystem is currently comprised of more than 280 technology startups, accelerators, venture capital firms, incubators, and ecosystem partners. The majority of tech startups, about 74% are located in the Attica region followed by Central Macedonia, Achaia and Crete, while 4.6% of technology startups are located in other regions of Greece.

Greek tech startups by category breakdown
17% of the startups focus on the health, life sciences and wellness sector, which is comprised of medical devices, biotechnology startups, digital health companies, virtual reality (VR) companies, and others. This sector includes an impressive line-up of companies and technologies examples of which include LangAware which leverages AI to predict neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s; RTsafe, a medical devices company which aims to reduce risk for brain cancer patients undergoing radiation treatment; ORamaVR which provides VR simulation training for medical professionals; Saphetor, a provider of bioinformatics tools for processing and annotation of next generation sequencing (NGS) data; and PD Neurotechnology, a medical devices company, focusing on the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
13% of the Greek tech startups form part of the Internet, Ecommerce sector with startups ranging from marketplaces to industry applications such as Intale that helps the management of convenience stores; Intelistyle which provides an AI powered personalized fashion styling platform; Oqullar, an augmented reality (AR) platform that enhances the online shopping experience; Convert Group, a provider of data analytics for the e-commerce field; and others.
